Union Pacific North Metra Alert UP-N - Union Pacific North Will Expand Service May 20th - New Peterson-Ridge Station Opens On May 20, Metra’s newest station at Peterson/Ridge in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood is set to open to the public. The Union Pacific North schedule will be expanded to accommodate the station stop and increase options for riders across the line. Additional service will be added to fill gaps in rush hour service and reduce crowding on some rush hour trains. For more information, visit metra.com. Milwaukee District North Metra Alert MD-N - Track construction at Grayland Station, Rondout and Everett crossing extended through June 2024 Track construction will be taking place at the Grayland station, Rondout, and the Everett crosssing has been extended through June, 2024. Trains may incur delays enroute up to 15 minutes behind schedule passing through the work zone until the work is complete. Please listen to announcements for any platform changes. Milwaukee District West Metra Alert MD-W - MDW Wood Dale Platform 2 Construction Notice Beginning Monday, March 25, the west half of Platform 2 (inbound platform) will be closed for rehabilitation for approximately 1 month. Commuters must use the east pedestrian crosswalk to access the platforms. Once completed, the work will move to the east half of Platform 2 to complete the project by the end of May. Please allow additional time to access the in-service platforms and exercise caution near the work zones Union Pacific West Metra Alert UP-W - Geneva Platform 2 Rehabilitation On Monday, October 9, the Geneva outbound platform (Platform 2) will be closed for rehabilitation through the end of 2024. Commuters must use the temporary platform located east of Third Street. All trains will board passengers from the rear cars on this platform. Please allow additional time to access the in-service platform and exercise caution near the work zones. Metra Alert UP-W - Union Pacific West Third Main Line Project. Union Pacific announced the Route 31 underpass in Geneva will be shut down for approximately four months starting Monday, March 4, as part of the rail company’s Third Main Line project. The official detour route will direct motorists/trucks heading north on Route 31 in Batavia to turn east on Fabyan Parkway, north on Route 25 and west on Route 64 in St. Charles. The detour will be vice versa for drivers traveling south on Route 31. Local traffic can use Third Street in Geneva, but drivers should be alert for pedestrians crossing the road throughout the downtown. For more informaiton click here. Metra Alert UP-W - River Forest Platform 2 Rehabilitation Beginning Wednesday, May 8, the east half of Platform 2 (island platform) will be closed for rehabilitation. Once completed, the work will move to the west half of Platform 2 to complete the project by the end of November. BNSF Metra Alert BNSF - BNSF - Berwyn Construction Notice As a reminder, the Berwyn Depot District Utility Project will resume on March 25 th , 2024, with restricted traffic patterns on Windsor Avenue, Stanley Avenue, and Oak Park Avenue. There will be temporary road closures, detours, and parking restrictions that will impact vehicular traffic and pedestrian access during the construction.
